How do I read mail with iPad?

Follow this instruction to set up your Domainnameshop email with the default Mail-app provided on your iPad.

If you wish to use Outlook for iOS see this guide.

NB! The Mail application on the iPad supports sending email to the email addresses with IDN (domainnames containing æ , ø, å and other national characters), but do not allow setting a IDN address as the sender. If you have such an address, you must therefore use the encoded version as the sender address when setting up the account, for example `post@xn--5cab8c.no` instead of `post@æøå.no`.

Go to SettingsMail, contacts, calendarsAdd Account

Choose Other as the account type. Press Add email account.

Enter your name, email address and the password for your email account, then press Next.

Choose the account type IMAP (recommended!) or POP, and enter the host name for the incoming server, your username and passord. If you chose IMAP, the host name is imap.domeneshop.no. If you chose POP, the host name is pop.domeneshop.no.

The host name for outgoing mail server is smtp.domeneshop.no, and you also need to provide your username and password once more.

Press Next when you are done, and choose which apps (Mail, Notes) you want to have access to your email account.

Your account should now be ready to use.


If you are experiencing problems sending email, you can go into the account settings under SettingsMail, contacts, calendars and select your email account. Press SMTP under Outgoing mail server.

Press the primary SMTP server, smtp.domeneshop.no

Make sure all the settings correspond to the following screenshot, with your username and password filled in.
